The Indesit company, the parent company of Hotpoint, helped celebrate Hotpoint’s Centenary in style as they invited over eight hundred kitchen specialists and independent retailers to a very special Hotpoint Birthday Bash in London.   They laid on room-sets from the past six decades before ultimately revealing the new Hotpoint appliances.

Undoubtedly Hotpoint will not be resting on their laurels and we can now look forward to another century of innovative designs coming to the market.   To name but a few, the centenary showcased the Hotpoint Aqualtis range of washing machines, which now have the benefit of an A+++ energy rating and an incredible 11kg capacity.  Not to be outdone, the washing machine was joined by the complimentary tumble dryer, with an energy rating of A+++ blowing away the myth that tumble dryers are uneconomic and expensive to run.  Indeed, the Aqualtis range is to be brought to the market with an exciting advertising campaign which sees a connection with the Disney Pixar Cars 2 film via a consumer competition.

Cannon By Hotpoint

Not content with revamping their laundry range, Hotpoint has also given their entire cooking range a face lift, this in the exciting form of the dual branding of its Cannon range cookers which will now bear the name Cannon by Hotpoint.

The Cannon brand has a very long association with cooking in the United Kingdom, and thanks to its gas-oriented heritage, Cannon also has an excellent reputation for manufacturing ovens with excellent gas features.   As with many tried and trusted brands, many consumers have fond memories of members of their family, perhaps parents or grandparents, cooking on Cannon appliances, and they automatically, when seeking a similar purchase, opt for the Cannon name because of the reliable appliances their family members had – thus taking the tradition ever forward.

From a quick glance at our website, it is easy to see that Cannon offer excellent value for money products, with their products not only looking good, but also having all the mod cons that one would expect in this highly competitive market sector.   First of all, from a purely aesthetic point of view, choosing a Cannon cooker that will fit in with your kitchen’s décor will not be difficult, for they are available in a range of styles and colours to enhance not only the traditional but also the contemporary kitchen place. Cannon cookers are available in black, white, moonstone and stainless steel to name but a few and each comes complete with a range of features to make light work of your cooking.

 Continuing growth strategy

At the centenary celebrations the Managing Director of Indesit was quoted as stating, “The launch of over 300 new products this year is testimony to the company’s leadership in this market and its commitment to driving the category’s value up in the middle point of the market. The Indesit Company is very strong in the laundry sector, but the area which we perceive as a growth opportunity is built-in cooking, aligning the premium Cannon brand with Hotpoint branding from autumn this year will also contribute to this growth.”

Indeed, the Chief Executive Officer of the Indesit company commented on the broader market whe he stated, “Consumers are being squeezed, but they are prepared to invest in innovation, and the launch of the iPad2 clearly demonstrates this.  If we can get the right proposition, supported with the education of our trade partners and the consumer, then the consumers will undoubtedly benefit from better product availability in the marketplace.”

From these quotes alone, we can see how Indesit, the parent company, are keen to forge ahead bringing new and innovative products to the market, whilst at the same time maintain their pole position in the Domestic Appliance market.
